Stephen grew up in church as a preacher's kid, studied the scriptures, earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and secured a Master of Divinity.

Rev. Harvey has been married to his wife Rhonda going on twenty-six years. He is the father of five children, the grandfather of eighteen, and has one great-grandchild.

He is a certified open water scuba diver, an accomplished snorkeler through out the Caribbean, a genealogist, and a Christian writer that loves traveling, preaching and teaching, discussing current events, politics, and theology.

​He volunteered and then was hired to work in a ministry serving the homeless in Des Moines. He has also been a chaplain for the Iowa Speedway, founded a home church, served as the full-time pastor of a rural Iowa church and brings a teacher's heart to his writings about scriptural truths.
